The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping using app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its most notable innovation is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. It uses AI to recognize objects like charging cords and shoes. It's the first robot to send you images of objects that it encounters, so you can tell the robot to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we've ever tested. It removes dirt and spills quickly leaving no trace it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app that lets you schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it with a voice.
robot vacuum cleaners is also superior to the competition. It has a sleek, top piece that resembles an toy, not the loud and annoying robot. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System automatically empty which is great for reducing your cleanup time.
In our tests the j7+ was quick to remove dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one location instead of scattering it around the floor. It even managed to capture sand and small gravel that other robots can't. It did this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.
Although it's not as sophisticated as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum, which isn't able to clean stairs, the j7+ is still a solid option for those who need mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take some time to download updates, and often it's hard to determine whether the update actually working until you see it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking to purchase a vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the best choice is probably one that is a hybrid. This type of robot typically includes a built-in water tank which means they can mop and vacuum your home at the same time. They also have a number of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and even the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're costly at full retail but often come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is one of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't have some of the more expensive features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) however, it's an excellent choice if you are willing to make some compromises to save a few dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeable gentle around obstacles like wall legs and table legs which makes it a good option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in getting rid of dust bunnies which is a place which many robot vacuums fail. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is fantastic too, with very little missing in corners and along walls.

The Q5+, like other Roborock products can be controlled with just a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleaning and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and adjust your home map or re-label rooms.
If you opt for the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make the robot easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver however, once it's in place emptying the bin can be done without difficulty. It also comes with a large LCD display that is great to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This isn't a necessity for most people but it will help you keep track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design is among the best in the industry however, it's costly.
The base station looks nice and is hidden when it's not in use, and its dimensions are quite small. The station's main selling point is that it automates many tasks, chores and functions that other robots leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Most other robovacs will require this.
Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's the only robovac I've tried that does a good job picking up debris from bare floors. It's also not as loud as the expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
budget robot vacuum is not without flaws, especially when it comes navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, which means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas of the house. It's also not able to climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a dock to create a cleaning area for carpets that are soft.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do everything.
If you're looking to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. Many eufy models cost substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper, but offers more features, including stairs and a fully-function Dock, with an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors, low-pile carpets as well as high-pile ones.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, a Anker company is a long-standing leader of making robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning of hard floors as well as mopping functions as well as carpets at a price that is affordable. It's simple to set up, just snap on one of the side brushes, turn it on and connect the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. It is recommended to keep the dock near a power outlet and enough space for it to move around however.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise and can be placed under couches and other furniture with a low clearance. Its design is less ostentatious in comparison to other models. It has a sleek black finish and three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral fashion over two minutes) Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The primary aspect that sets the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It makes use of an integrated map to create an image of the unmovable items in its path. It keeps track of the items it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. If it requires a recharge, it automatically returns to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it began.
The eufy G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower monthly costs. It charges faster, has similar battery life and performs better on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It has a bigger dust bin, which doesn't require more emptying. It also has boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 on the other hand, is more affordable and much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't need emptying as often and is less prone to suffocating bulky material like cereal.
